The Heart of Ila is an TTRPG adventure set in a bright fantasy world.

The story takes place in the world of Carme, a magical place teeming with wildlife and civilization. On the continent of Fanya Nór, the city of Ila boasts a diverse population as well as diverse standards of living. Those who cannot afford comfort must toil to survive, and often that means a life wrought with peril.

Behind closed doors a series of events leads to the development of breakthrough technology, promising to bring the people of Ila into a new age of prosperity. But as the city looks towards the future, a new threat emerges causing chaos and destabilising the region...

The following is an excerpt from a tome in Ila’s Great Library.

The universe was vast and empty. Void of life and full of darkness. Ila lay motionless within the dark, floating in nothingness. She felt something deep within the core of her being. A longing. A yearning. A burning. Eventually the feeling became too strong to ignore and in an eruption of agony, Ila opened her mouth and took the first breath – breathing life into the emptiness.

The Gods heard Ila’s cry of agony and rushed to her side. Váre could see that Ila was tired from her exertion, so with his might, he created land so that she may rest on it.

Feeling the land beneath her feet for the first time, Ila knelt to be closer to it. She ran her hands over the dirt, enamoured with the texture, and as she pushed and pulled, she sculpted the land creating mountains, chasms, hills, and trenches.

Tir, watching from a distance, was impressed by Ila’s creativity, so he used his wisdom to create stars, so that she may see more clearly.

The Gods watched as Tir gave himself of each star. Overcome by Tir’s thoughtfulness and the beauty of the twinkling sky, Olva wept onto the land, creating the rain, rivers, lakes, and oceans.

Cait mistook Olva’s tears for tears of sadness, and as Cait blew them from Olva’s face, Cait created the wind, clouds, and storms.

Berta watched as S’lise stood in awe of all that was created. Seething with jealousy, Berta devised a plan to win S’lise’s attention and began whispering into Ohta’s ear…
